Skin-focused podcasts, astronomy for kids, STEM entrepreneurship and a digital universe for citizen science data. Four projects receive a grant for each of their missions to share knowledge about the skin and encourage engagement with health and natural science.

Through its Education and Awareness grants program, the LEO Foundation supports activities that stimulate interest for health and the natural sciences among children and adolescents, share research-based knowledge with the public, and create awareness about the skin and its diseases.

In the latest round of Education and Awareness grants, four projects receive a total of DKK 5 million in funding.

A listenable library of dermatological knowledge for all

One project to receive a grant in the latest round is “Hudlægens bord”, roughly translated to “the dermatologist’s table”. This is a podcast series that aims to cast light on the skin and its diseases and will be available to the public as a source of long-standing and credible information for patients and others interested in the skin.

An online universe for citizen science data

The Natural History Museum of Denmark also receives funding in the latest round of Education and Awareness grants for its citizen science project, which will invite thousands of high school students around Denmark to engage more closely with authentic scientific data.
