Facts and fascination are the two key components of the new “Let’s talk about skin” initiative.

Today, the LEO Foundation unveils a new campaign that seeks to spark a renewed conversation about skin and skin diseases. This initiative, “Let’s talk about skin”, is born out of the newly launched “Ambition 2030,” which sharpens the Foundation’s focus on the skin and its commitment to improving the lives of people living with skin diseases.

“With “Let’s talk about skin”, we hope to catalyze and inspire a positive, fact-based, and curious conversation about skin and skin diseases that leads to a deeper understanding, free from myths and stigmatization,” said CEO Peter Haahr.

Skin diseases are among the most common health problems worldwide, affecting approximately one in three people. Given their visible nature, skin diseases often induce stigmatization – about 9 out of 10 patients feel that their disease is a source of embarrassment in their personal life, whereas 8 out of 10 patients feel the same in their work life.*

A key component of the campaign is a series of content across the Foundation’s digital channels that combines facts and fascination, showcasing the marvels of the skin and the realities of skin diseases in a new light.

“The skin and its underlying mechanisms are truly fascinating. Based on a positive and curious communication platform, we invite everyone to partake in a renewed dialogue – not just to raise awareness but to eliminate stigma and reshape the conversation surrounding the skin and its diseases,” said Peter Haahr.
