This year\u2019s deserving winner is Lukas Kvisgaard Andersen from Virum Gymnasium.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lukas impressed the jury with an ambitious idea for targeted cancer treatment using nano particles and enzymes to combat cancer cells, which are identified by a unique two step recognition system.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:18px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A prize for future stars<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The young scientist scored highly on his innovative thinking. The judges were also very impressed by the clear and engaged way he communicated the complexity of his project.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s no doubt that Lukas has a passion for research, and we award this year\u2019s prize with confidence that he has the full potential to become a future research star.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LEO Foundation Rising-star prize was presented by Anne-Marie Engel, Chief Scientific Officer at the LEO Foundation, at an award ceremony in Copenhagen on 25 April.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:18px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>&#8220;It has been a tremendous pleasure and inspiration to see the amount of talent in this year&#8217;s Young Scientists competition.
